SHOPIAN: Continuing the efforts to strengthen the Police Public relationship, J&K Police organized a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Keegam. The meeting was chaired by SSP Shopian Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary–JKPS and witnessed the active participation of respectable citizens, traders, youth representatives and civil society members from Keegam and adjoining areas.
During the interaction, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, including road safety, civic amenities, traffic management, drug abuse and other developmental matters. SSP Shopian gave a patient hearing to all grievances and assured that genuine issues would be resolved on priority, while matters falling under the jurisdiction of other departments would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for timely action.
In his address, SSP Shopian emphasized that PCPG meetings play a vital role in fostering mutual trust, promoting transparency and strengthening cooperation between police and the public. SSP Shopian also sought the cooperation of locals in maintaining law and order, ensuring traffic discipline, curbing the drug menace and identifying anti-national or anti-social elements who attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the area. He reiterated that policing can be most effective when the community and police work hand-in-hand in a spirit of trust and cooperation.
