REASI: To commemorate the 5th Anniversary of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Department of Social Welfare Reasi organised a series of events in the district to generate mass awareness about the ill effects of substance abuse.

An impactful awareness rally, comprising students of different educational institutions, was flagged off from Government Degree College by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar. He emphasized the urgent need for collective action to safeguard youth from the menace of drugs. He also emphasized the importance of collective responsibility of all stakeholders in eradicating substance abuse and encouraged continued cooperation from all stakeholders.

The students enthusiastically participated in the mass rally carrying banners, raising slogans and displaying placards to spread awareness about the harmful impact of drug abuse. The students took the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to eliminating substance abuse.

District Social Welfare Officer Sachin Sharma reaffirmed the efforts of different stakeholders to carry forward the mission of Nasha Mukt Bharat with renewed energy. He emphasized that observance of the 5th anniversary serves as a reminder of the progress made and the need to sustain efforts through consistent outreach, youth engagement and community participation.

Apart from this, series of impactful activities viz. Slogan writing, Poster Making, Essay Writing Competitions themed on "Say No to Drugs" & Pledge at different Educational Institutions aimed at strengthening the fight against substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society were organized. Pamphlets and refreshment were also distributed among students.
