SHOPIAN: In a significant stride towards the effective enforcement of the New Criminal Laws (NCL), District Police Shopian has secured a series of successful convictions in various criminal cases registered across different Police Stations of the district. This achievement underscores the department’s unwavering commitment to justice, accountability and the rule of law.

A total of three (03) convictions have been achieved under different provisions of the New Criminal Laws (NCL). The Investigating Officers pursued these cases with utmost professionalism and the prosecutions were successfully carried through in the courts of law, resulting in substantial sentences against the accused persons in accordance with the newly enacted legal provisions.

Details of the Cases:  FIR No. 90/2024, U/S 281, 125, 324(3) BNS, 4/181, 5/180 MV Act of Police Station Zainapora, FIR No. 34/2025, U/S 281, 125(b), 324(3) BNS of Police Station Heerpora and FIR No. 40/2025, U/S 329(3) BNS of Police Station Zainapora.

These convictions mark a major milestone in J&K Police’s adaptation to the reformed legal framework and serve as a strong deterrent against unlawful activities. The outcomes reflect the dedication and diligence of both the investigating and prosecuting teams in ensuring justice through efficient implementation of the new laws.
