- DC urges youth to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, and harmony for a stronger nation
SHOPIAN: To celebrate the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, commerating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the District Administration Shopian in collaboration with "Mera Yuva Bharat" today organized a grand function here at Mini-Secretariat, Shopian. The event was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta to celebrate the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner paid glowing tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his historic role in the integration of princely states and the unification of the nation after Independence. He emphasized that Patelās vision, courage and leadership remain a guiding light for every Indian, reminding citizens of the strength that comes from unity and collective effort.
He further added that we all should commit on this happy occasion to fight collectively against corruption,drugs and environmental pollution to take forward the developmental journey of the district. The DC also highlighted the importance of preserving communal harmony, promoting mutual respect and working collectively towards developmental goals, especially inculcating the same among the youth.
On the occasion, Unity Pledge was also administered to officers, officials and participants, reaffirming commitment to uphold the unity, integrity and security of the nation. Local artists and school students of various educational institutions presented a series of cultural, patriotic, and dramatic performances and speeches reflecting the theme of national integration and unity in diversity.
The programme concluded with expressions of gratitude from the district administration to all participnts and stakeholders for their active involvement in making the event successful. The celebration at Shopian reflected the true spirit of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, spreading the message of oneness, harmony and national pride across the district.
