AWANTIPORA: Police District Awantipora celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great zeal and enthusiasm across the Police District. The main function was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora, where a large contingent of police personnel participated in the pledge-taking ceremony, reaffirming their commitment towards the unity, integrity, and security of the nation, following the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Pledge-taking ceremonies were also conducted at all Police Sub-units across the district. The event highlighted the importance of unity and integrity in maintaining peace and strengthening the nation’s social fabric. A ceremonial march past was also held at DPL Awantipora.
Earlier in the day, “Run for Unity” events were organised across Police District Awantipora, witnessing enthusiastic participation of youth from different areas of the district. The main event started from Police Station Awantipora and culminated at T-Chowk, DPL Awantipora. The first three winners in each event were felicitated with cash prizes and appreciation certificates, followed by refreshments for all participants. On this occasion SSP Awantipora, Addl. SP Awantipora, SDPO Awantipora, DySP DAR Awantipora, SHO Awantipora, and other officers of the civil and police administration participated in the event and encouraged the participants.
Moreover, a Photo Exhibition on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and an Ekta Tree Plantation Drive (Ekta Vriksh Campaign) were also organised, symbolising collective commitment towards unity, integrity, and environmental sustainability.
