- Dozens of political workers join Apni Party in Jammu
JAMMU: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today alleged that the Govt has disappointed the unemployed youth as it did not work for their employment. “The Govt claims that it worked to generate employment / self – employment in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the situation is opposite to what is being projected in the public,” said S. Manjit Singh, addressing a meeting in the Apni Party Office at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The meeting was organized by Party’s Minority Provincial President Wing, Balbir Singh Bawa to felicitate the joining of several young political workers. While welcoming the new entrants into the Party fold, the Former Minister hoped that their joining would boost the strength of the Party.
“The young generation wants to bring change in the political system of Jammu and Kashmir as they have seen hopelessness in these years where nothing was done for the people of the erstwhile state of J&K,” he added, while saying that the people have been deeply disappointed with the performance of the Govt.
The Govt is being run by the bureaucracy in the absence of an elected Govt and they have no accountability. Its elected Govt that is accountable to the people, he added. Therefore, he said that the holding of Assembly Elections is important and the restoration of statehood to J&K with all powers.
“There is strong resentment among the people across the regions against the downgrading of the erstwhile state of J&K and snatching of powers of the elected Govt and empowerment of LG J&K with more powers,” he added.
