JAMMU:: School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu inaugurated a one-week AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Faculty Development Programme on “Entrepreneurship Development" under the mentorship of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu
The programme started with the Inaugural Address by Padmashree Prof. Anil K Gupta, Visiting Faculty, IIM Ahmedabad & IIT Bombay and an independent thinker, activist for the cause of creative communities and individuals at grassroots, tech institutions and in any other walk of life; committed to make this world a more creative, compassionate and collaborative place. Prof. Gupta in his inaugural address discussed about managing innovations through linking Education & Entrepreneurship.
In his address he empathized to expand the global as well as local space for innovations at grassroots, link ideas in informal and formal sector, ensure recognition, respect and reward for creative people; creating knowledge networks for augmenting innovations and unfolding creative potential of individuals, institutions and societies through frugal, flexible and friendly empathetic innovations citing practical insights from his field experiences. He impressed upon the audience to holistically work for underserved communities and share insights for supporting grassroot innovations.
Prof. Prasad Teegalapelly from IIM Mumbai conducted the session on Indian Values vis-a-vis entrepreneurship & the present scenario. His address focused on student startups and entrepreneurial pedagogies in higher education. He highlighted the success stories of his students who took to the pedagogy of learning by earning emerged as entrepreneurs’.
Earlier Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Dean, School of Business Studies in her opening address welcomed the participants and shared brief profile & achievements of the School of Business Studies. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Bhasin impressed upon the participants to take the maximum benefits from the leading faculty members from Central University of Jammu and other institutions of excellence. She appreciated the efforts of Central University of Jammu under visionary leadership of its Vice Chancellor for facilitating conduct of such events and activities for realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2027. She pointed out that in the fast-changing technological world entrepreneurship is the need of the hour to create a pool of job creators rather than job seekers.
Dr. Neelika Arora, Director, UGC-MMTC addressed the participants of the programme and introduced Resource Persons for different sessions while speaking in the inaugural session she highlighted the scholarly and societal contribution of networks created by Prof. Gupta. She briefed the participants about the FDP and Programme Schedule. She stressed on knowledge, skills and attitude as key to become successful in life and also elaborated the concept of Kaushal Bharat - Kushal Bharat. It is pertinent to mention here that more than 200 participants from across the country registered for this event.
The inaugural ceremony held today, witnessed the presence of HoDs, and faculty members of the School of Business Studies. The entire program was coordinated by Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Co-Coordinator, Atal FDP under the supervision of Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Coordinator & Dean, SBS. Dr. Shahid Mushtaq proposed a formal vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all the contributors and supporters of this initiative.
