REASI: Under the visionary leadership of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Reasi (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge) and the guidance of Secretary Pooja Gupta, a series of awareness programmes were held today in different parts of the District. Awareness camp on the Role of DLSA and its Functions was organized at Dewal and Chassana by Penal Lawyers and PLVs of TLSC Mahore.
The participants at the both venues were informed about the objectives and functions of the District Legal Services Authority, including the provision of free legal aid for eligible persons through the Authority, taking legal awareness initiatives, holding Lok Adalats, oversee implementation of victim compensation schemes and the welfare schemes being implemented under NALSA and J&K Legal Services Authority. The PLVs also highlighted the importance of legal awareness at the grassroots level and encouraged the local residents to approach DLSA/TLSC for any legal assistance and guidance.
Another awareness Programme on dangers of Drug Abuse was organized at Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi by the Para Legal Volunteers of the DLSA. The students were imparted awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug addiction and the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life.
