• Public distrust, allegations against IAS officers serious concern for governance

RS PURA: Senior BJP leader Adv Devraj Sharma has expressed serious concern over the ongoing protests against the SDM of RS Pura, stating that the matter must be dealt with in a transparent and impartial manner so that truth prevails and public confidence in the administration is safeguarded.

In a statement issued here today, Adv Devraj Sharma said that public allegations and counter allegations involving IAS officers or senior administrative officials should never be taken lightly, as such controversies directly impact the credibility of governance and public trust in institutions. He said every allegation must be examined fairly and objectively, while ensuring that innocent officers are not unnecessarily targeted and those found guilty are brought to justice.

“Whether an official is junior or senior, accountability must remain paramount. Irrespective of status or position, anyone responsible for wrongdoing should face strict action under law,” he asserted.

The senior BJP leader observed that growing mistrust between the public and administrative institutions is not a healthy sign for democracy or good governance. He maintained that transparency, accountability, and responsiveness are essential for maintaining faith of the common people in the administration.

Adv Sharma said that protests and public resentment often arise when people feel their grievances are not being addressed sincerely. Therefore, he urged the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter, ascertain facts, and take appropriate action purely on the basis of evidence and fairness.

He cautioned against politicising sensitive administrative issues and appealed to all stakeholders to maintain peace and restraint while allowing the due legal and administrative process to function independently.

Stressing that justice must not only be done but should also be seen to be done, Adv Devraj Sharma said that restoring public confidence should remain the top priority of the administration. He added that good governance can thrive only when there is transparency, integrity, and mutual trust between the people and public institutions.
