The meeting witnessed an extensive interaction with Booth Presidents, BLO-2s, and members of Booth Committees representing Booth Numbers 46, 47, 48, 49, and 50. During the discussion, various organizational matters and pressing civic issues faced by the residents were highlighted, including poor sanitization of lanes and drains, the increasing stray dog menace, shortage of sanitation workers, inadequate garbage collection facilities, and malfunctioning or absent street lights in several areas. The shortage of sanitation workers has worsened civic crisis in Ward 40, he stressed and added that over the years, the count of workers has decreased in the Ward.

Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, while addressing the meeting, emphasized that booth-level strengthening remains the foundation of BJP’s organizational success. He said that every party activist must work with dedication to ensure active and effective functioning of booth committees while maintaining regular outreach with the public. He also stressed the importance of ensuring maximum participation in the upcoming “Mann Ki Baat” programme scheduled for the last Sunday of the month.

Dr. Pardeep assured the workers that all civic issues raised during the meeting would be strongly taken up with the MLA Jammu West and the concerned departments for early resolution. He particularly highlighted the need for proper management of drinking water resources during the ongoing heatwave, pointing out that several tail-end localities in Ward No. 40 continue to face water supply shortages.

Neelam Nargotra stressed that timely resolution of local issues is essential to maintaining public trust. She emphasized that despite the rapidly increasing population and expanding residential areas in Ward No. 40, the number of sanitation workers has been drastically reduced, causing immense inconvenience to the residents. Neelam pointed out that although substantial revenue is being collected from the ward, there remains an acute shortage of sanitation staff, garbage collection Rehris, and even designated temporary garbage dumping sites, reflecting sheer neglect of basic civic amenities in the area.
