JAMMU: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) J&K, Divisional Office Jammu organized two major programmes simultaneously aimed at strengthening digital education and Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) initiatives across Jammu Division.

The events were held under the mentorship of Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director SCERT J&K, and the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu.

A 3-Day Workshop on “DIKSHA Platform: Creation, Curation and Effective Utilization of Digital Content” was organized by the Department of ECT & CS and DIKSHA Team, SCERT Jammu. The workshop witnessed participation of 30 District DIKSHA Coordinators comprising one Academic and two Technical Coordinators from each district of Jammu Division.

The participants underwent intensive hands-on training on various advanced features of DIKSHA including DIKSHA 2.0, AI-enabled tools such as Ask DIKSHA, Video Keyword Search, Read Aloud and Translation Tools, Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL), Coupon-Based Courses, content uploading and course creation on the new DIKSHA LMS. A significant outcome of the workshop was the successful implementation of a Coupon-Based Course on DIKSHA for the participants, making SCERT J&K the first Union Territory in the country to introduce this initiative on the DIKSHA platform.

The workshop was coordinated by Vivek Jandial, DIKSHA Technical Coordinator, SCERT Jammu, who also conducted various technical sessions on DIKSHA and its emerging features. The programme was actively supported by Mohd Shabir, Associate Professor & Head Academic Unit-III, Ms. Reeta Charak, Wing Head and the dedicated team of the ECT & CS Department and DIKSHA Team.

Meanwhile, a 2-Day Initial Professional Preparation Programme for ECCE Educators was conducted with the dedicated support of Vinod Bhat, Head Academic Unit-II and the organizing team. The programme focused on strengthening foundational learning, classroom practices, academic planning, assessment and community participation. Dr. Sanjeevani, Head ECCE, presented the welcome address, while  Rajni Kumari, Assistant Professor & Programme Coordinator, delivered the keynote address.

Academic Officer Anil Sharma deliberated on ECCE and FLN, role of DIETs, academic planning, curriculum and TLM development.  Senior Academic Officer Kamini Verma discussed teacher mentoring and capacity building, while Academic Officer Neeraj Jamwal highlighted monitoring, community participation and coordination.  Shazia Kousar conducted sessions on assessment, research, innovation and sustainability, followed by group work and presentations by participants. The programmes concluded with a formal vote of thanks and distribution of certificates among the participants.
