SAMBA: A Workshop cum Orientation Programme on Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules 2026 was conducted today in the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Complex Samba. The workshop was attended by Block Development Officers of the District, Panchayat Secretaries and other officials of the Rural Development Department.
The programme was organized in compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court of India regarding the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026. The workshop was chaired by the Additional District Development Commissioner.
Assistant Commissioner Panchayat presented a detailed review of the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026 through a PowerPoint presentation and highlighted the key provisions, responsibilities and implementation framework envisaged under the Rules.
The programme aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of the provisions of the SWM Rules 2026 and to ensure their effective implementation at the grassroots level across the district.
