KATHUA: As part of the ongoing Jan Bhagidari Week being observed from May 18 to 25, 2026, the District Administration Kathua is conducting an extensive outreach campaign across tribal and remote areas of the district to strengthen public participation, promote inclusive development and ensure doorstep delivery of government services.

Being organised under the theme “Jan Bhagidari – Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle”, the initiative is set to cover 31 tribal-populated villages spread across the blocks of Bani, Barnoti, Basohli, Duggan, Hiranagar, Kathua, Keerian-Gandyal, Marheen and Nagri. The campaign seeks to enhance awareness about government welfare schemes and improve access to public services among remote and underserved communities.

Today, Jan Bhagidari Camps were organised at Panchayat Flote-B, Rakh Sarkar-Bailliyan, Village Kamala in Panchayat Sahar and other identified locations, where residents availed a range of services and interacted directly with officers of various departments. Awareness sessions, IEC activities and on-the-spot grievances redressal programmes (Jan Sunwai) were also held to address public concerns and facilitate effective outreach.

The government departments including Health, ICDS, Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, AYUSH, Labour, Social Welfare, Power Development Department and others are actively participating in the camps by setting up awareness and service delivery stalls. Information regarding welfare schemes and beneficiary-oriented programmes is being disseminated, while eligible beneficiaries are being facilitated on the spot.

The outreach programme has witnessed encouraging participation from local residents, PRI representatives and beneficiaries, who have appreciated the administration's efforts in taking governance and public services closer to the people.
