KISHTWAR: In continuation to the 7-day “Jan Bhagidaari Sabse Door–Sabse Pehle” Mega IEC Campaign, the District Administration Kishtwar, under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and the guidance of Additional District Development Commissioner (Nodal Officer) Vinod Kumar Behnal, organised Jan Sunwai, Awareness cum Benefit Saturation Camps on across various remote tribal areas of the district.
On Day 04, the camps were conducted at Village Lossain in Block Paddar and Village Kukerwas in Block Drabshalla. On Day five, the outreach camps were organised at Village Renaie in Block Marwah, Village Piyas in Block Nagseni, Village Chandali in Block Drabshalla, Village Bhata in Block Mughal Maidan and Patnazi in Block Bounjwah.
The initiative aims to strengthen last-mile delivery of government welfare schemes, enhance public awareness and ensure saturation coverage in far-flung tribal regions. The camps witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials, local residents, public representatives and stakeholders, facilitating direct interaction between the tribal population and the government departments.
During the camps, several services and registrations under financial inclusion schemes were provided on the spot. Departmental informative stalls were established by the Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, FCS&CA, Education, J&K Bank, Forest, JPDCL, ICDS, Health, Agriculture, Revenue and other Departments to disseminate awareness regarding welfare schemes and citizen-centric services among the tribal population.
Medical health check-up camps were also organised by the Department of AYUSH at Village Piyas Block Nasgeni, Village Patnazi Block Bounjwah and at Village Bhata Block Mughal Maidan. Special awareness sessions on the Solid Waste Management Rules were conducted and the Nasha Mukt Pledge was administered to all participants as part of the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukht Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan campaign at all the venues across the District.
Public grievance redressal programmes were also held during the camps to ensure prompt resolution of public concerns and strengthen administrative outreach in remote areas. Beneficiaries were sensitised to flagship welfare schemes, including PMJJDY, PMSBY, Mission YUVA, PM Ujjwala Yojana and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana along with other UT and Centrally Sponsored schemes.
Awareness sessions under the 100 Day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan were also conducted at all locations to educate youth and local residents about the harmful effects of substance abuse. Gram Sabhas were convened during the programmes to encourage participatory governance and deliberations on local developmental priorities and public welfare issues.
The tribal community and local residents appreciated the outreach efforts of the District Administration, observing that such initiatives are significantly helping bridge service delivery gaps in remote regions and reinforcing public confidence in governance.
