BHADERWAH: A comprehensive market checking drive was conducted today in Bhaderwah town under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar Bhutyal to enforce adherence to market regulations and prevent overcharging during the Eid-ul-Azha festival. The drive witnessed active participation from Naib tehsildar Bhaderwah, Municipality department, Veterinary department, Food and Supply and police.
The team thoroughly checked shops and establishments for compliance with pricing norms, hygiene standards and other regulatory guidelines. Several violations were detected and fines amounting to Rs. 3500 were imposed on erring shopkeepers. Special attention was given to food items, milk, mutton and daily use products as the demand increases during the festive season. Shopkeepers were directed to display the rate list clearly and follow government approved prices.
The drive aimed to protect consumer interests and ensure a smooth and safe shopping experience for the people. The administration has appealed to all traders to co-operate and maintain fairness so that the festival is celebrated in a safe and positive manner. Strict action will be taken against those found violating the rules.
