JAMMU: To generate awareness about the prevention and control of dengue, a Nukkad Natak was presented today at Government Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar by the Cultural Unit of Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) Jammu in collaboration with the State Malarialogist Office NVBDCP J&K.

The programme was organised under the aegis of the State Malarialogist/SPO, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), J&K, Directorate of Health Services Jammu with the objective of educating students and staff about the causes, symptoms and preventive measures related to dengue fever.

Artists of the Cultural Unit Jammu presented an informative and engaging Nukkad Natak, highlighting the importance of maintaining cleanliness, preventing water stagnation and adopting necessary precautions to curb mosquito breeding. The performance effectively conveyed the message of community participation in preventing dengue and other vector-borne diseases.

Principal of the school Sushma Kumari, who was the chief guest on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the Cultural Unit and the Health Department for organising a highly informative programme. She urged students to spread the awareness message within their families and communities.

Teachers, staff members and a large number of students witnessed the programme and actively participated in the awareness interaction. The programme was conducted under the direction of Joint Director Information Jammu Deepak Dubey and under the supervision of Cultural Officer Jammu Mohit Sharma.
