ANANTNAG, SOPORE & PULWAMA: In a coordinated and intensified drive against drug abuse and regulatory violations under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police in Anantnag, Sopore & Pulwama carried out multiple enforcement, inspection, and awareness activities.
In Anantnag, Police along with the Drug Control and Health Departments conducted a surprise inspection of medical shops at Salia, Aishmuqam. During the drive, two medical establishments Shah Pharmacy and Zahoor Medical Store were seized for operating in violation of prescribed government norms. Legal and departmental proceedings have been initiated.
Meanwhile, in Sopore, K9 squads were deployed at various locations for intensive checking operations aimed at detecting and preventing the transportation of narcotics and other contraband substances.
In Pulwama, Police also continued its multi-pronged anti-drug campaign by intensifying vehicle checking at vulnerable locations, destroying wild cannabis plants at Khaigam, conducting inspections of medical shops in Kakapora, and organising anti-drug awareness programmes and rallies at educational institutions to sensitise youth and the general public about the dangers of substance abuse.
Police reiterated their firm commitment to sustained enforcement, preventive action, and public awareness initiatives, while urging citizens to cooperate and share information related to narcotics and drug-related activities.
