KATHUA: On the 34th day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna Anushthan of all four Vedas at Ved Mandir, renowned scholar and Yogacharya Swami Ram Swaroop delivered a spiritual discourse based on Rigveda Mantra 10/22/3, explaining the significance of sincere devotion and Vedic worship.
Addressing devotees and seekers, Swami Ji said that a true worshipper who performs steadfast devotion to Almighty God receives affection and protection from the Supreme Being just as a loving father cares for his beloved son. Referring to the second mantra, he explained that God blesses sincere devotees with fame, prosperity, wealth, and food, thereby sustaining and nurturing all living beings. He emphasized that since God nourishes the entire universe, He is rightly regarded as the father of all creation.
During the discourse, Swami Ram Swaroop also stressed the importance of respecting the four Vedas, which he described as divine knowledge originating from God. Citing Manusmriti Shloka 2/11, he stated that those who criticize or disrespect the Vedas are referred to as “Nastik” (atheists). He further referred to the Van Parva of the Mahabharata authored by Maharishi Ved Vyasa, where critics of the Vedas have been described as ignorant.
Urging devotees to honour the teachings of ancient sages and saints, Swami Ji appealed to people to refrain from criticizing Vedic knowledge and instead seek guidance from learned scholars to understand the true essence of Vedic philosophy.Explaining Rigveda Mantra 10/48/7, he said that the Almighty Himself declares His power to punish evil, irreligious behaviour, and those who oppose divine truth. Swami Ji stated that God protects righteousness and destroys negativity in the same manner as warriors defeat enemies in battle. He concluded by encouraging people to follow the path of Vedic wisdom, perform worship in accordance with the Vedas, and lead a life filled with spiritual peace, prosperity, family happiness, and ultimately attain salvation (moksha).
