JAMMU: In a meaningful humanitarian initiative driven by compassion and social responsibility, the Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram) today organized a Relief Distribution Camp for economically weaker and underprivileged families residing in rural Panchayat areas.

As part of the initiative, specially prepared ration kits containing 10 kg flour, 5 kg rice, 3 kg pulses, 2 kg sugar, and 2 kg salt were distributed among 70 deserving beneficiaries belonging to Upper Gharota-B, Lower Ranjan, Upper Ranjan, Lower Jandial, Upper Jandial, and Doomi Panchayats. The initiative aimed not only to provide relief material but also to spread hope, dignity, and emotional support among struggling families.

The identification of genuinely needy beneficiaries and coordination of the outreach programme was sincerely carried out by Kuldip Singh Langeh, whose dedicated social efforts and support were highly appreciated by the Management Committee of Vridh Ashram.

The programme was conducted in the presence of Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary; Shri Vijay Kumar, Joint Secretary; Managing Committee Members Sr. Rajinder Singh, Satpal Sharma, and Vijay Dhawan; along with Raghav Gupta, Social Activist, who actively participated in the humanitarian initiative.

During the programme, Dr. Dinesh Gupta made a heartfelt appeal to the public regarding elderly persons who are living alone, neglected, or without anyone to care for them. He stated that if there is any genuinely needy senior citizen above 60 years of age, physically and mentally sound, not addict, without proper shelter or family support, and living in isolation, such persons may be referred to the Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu for care, shelter, dignity, and emotional support. He further informed that the Ashram team is continuously reaching different areas to identify such helpless elderly persons so that no senior citizen is left abandoned or uncared for.

On the occasion, Kuldip Singh Langeh appreciated Dr. Dinesh Gupta and all members of Vridh Ashram for their continuous humanitarian service and dedicated efforts towards the welfare and dignity of elderly and needy persons in society.

The atmosphere during the camp reflected humanity, empathy, and collective responsibility, where every ration kit carried not merely food supplies, but also the reassuring message that compassion and kindness still remain alive in society.
