PULWAMA: Continuing its drive against illegal mining, &K Police have seized 02 vehicles involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals in Pulwama. A police party from Police Post Newa during naka checking at Newa Market intercepted 02 tractors bearing chassis numbers MBNBF52ACLCH98994 and WQCA51606029053, driven by Murtaza Ali Khan and Mukhtar Hussain Khan both residents of Hathkol Nawnagri Pulwama.
On inspection, both vehicles were found loaded with illegally extracted sand, in clear violation of legal norms. Acting promptly, the police party seized both tractors on the spot. In this regard, FIR No. 56/2026 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pulwama, and investigation has been initiated. J&K Police remains committed to eliminating illegal mining and ensuring strict enforcement of law. Citizens are urged to cooperate and report any such unlawful activities to the nearest police establishment.
