PULWAMA: Continuing its sustained crackdown against illegal mining, J&K Police seized five vehicles in the Kakapora area involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals.

During routine naka checking and patrolling in the area, police teams intercepted and seized the vehicles found carrying illegally extracted minerals without valid permission or royalty documents. All five vehicles were taken into custody on the spot. In this connection, cases FIR No. 36/2026 and 37/2026 under relevant sections of law have been registered at police station kakapora, and investigation has been initiated.

Police reiterated its firm commitment towards protecting natural resources and taking strict legal action against those involved in illegal mining activities. The general public has been urged to cooperate with the police by reporting such unlawful activities, with assurance that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
