- Reviews developmental activities in Mahore subdivision
REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today visited Sarh area of Mahore Sub Division to inspect the damages in areas affected by landslides during the last monsoon season.
During the visit, the DDC inspected several houses vulnerable to sinking and interacted with the affected residents. He assured the locals that cases pending under SDRF compensation would be processed at the earliest and reconstruction works in the affected areas would be taken up soon. The residents also raised the issue of irregular functioning of an irrigation canal and demanded its early repair.
Later, the DDC chaired a review meeting with district and sectoral officers at Mahore to assess the progress of the developmental works in the subdivision. He reviewed the status of PMGSY projects and inquired about tendering processes, forest clearance issues and progress on ongoing road works. He directed the concerned departments to expedite the pace of work and ensure timely completion of all projects.
Reviewing the functioning of JPDCL, the DDC directed the concerned officers to furnish details of panchayats yet to be electrified and asked them to monitor and improve voltage-related issues in different areas of Mahore. He further instructed the Agriculture, Horticulture and Fisheries departments to organise awareness camps across the subdivision to educate the public about various government-sponsored schemes and welfare programmes.
During the meeting, MLA Gulabgarh Er Khurshied Ahmed highlighted issues related to roads and bridges being constructed under PMGSY. He also raised concerns regarding pending Mission YUVA cases and urged the authorities concerned to sanction the same at the earliest. The MLA further highlighted mobile network connectivity issues in several areas of Mahore.
The DDC also met several deputations and individuals from different parts of Mahore who apprised him of various public issues and developmental demands. He gave a patient hearing to all the deputations and assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner. He directed the concerned officers to examine the issues on priority and take necessary action for their early redressal.
Later, the DDC visited Government Model Higher Secondary School Mahore and inspected the academic and infrastructural facilities available in the institution. He interacted with the school staff and students and reviewed the overall functioning of the school. He directed the RDD department to prepare a DPR for the repair of the Sadhavana Hostel.
The DDC also inspected the Community Health Centre Mahore to assess the healthcare services being provided to the public. During the visit, he reviewed the availability of medicines, medical staff, diagnostic facilities and other healthcare arrangements at the hospital. He interacted with doctors and healthcare workers and directed the concerned officials to ensure better healthcare facilities and timely medical services to the people.
As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir 100-Day Abhiyan, the DDC flagged off a Padyatra at Mahore to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote a healthy and addiction-free society. The awareness rally was organised by the District Administration Reasi in collaboration with Rashtriya Rifles, Mahore. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers of the civil administration, Army personnel, students, youth, PRI representatives and members of the local community.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed the need for coordinated efforts from all sections of society to make the anti-drug campaign successful. He urged the youth to actively participate in sports and games, stating that such activities play a vital role in keeping young minds positively engaged and away from the menace of drugs. MLA Gulabgarh Er. Khurshied Ahmed, ADDC Krishan Lal, CPO Narinder Kumar, SDM Mahore, ACD Reasi, and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
