SRINAGAR: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, J&K Police have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and has seized 02 vehicles involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.
Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a Police party of Police Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad seized two tippers from Bohu Awantipora. Accordingly, a case vide FIR NO. 69/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
J&K Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities in the district and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in protecting natural resources. Strict action will continue against those found indulging in such unlawful practices.
