ANANTNAG: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining activities across the district, J&K Police in Anantnag achieved significant success in two separate actions, resulting in the seizure of five vehicles involved in unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals.
A police party of Police Station Srigufwara, during naka checking at Srigufwara, intercepted and seized four tractors found transporting illegally extracted boulders. In this connection, FIR No. 49/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Srigufwara and investigation has been taken up. In another action, Police Station Utrasoo intercepted one tractor bearing registration number JK13E-4993 at Bosan Crossing, which was found carrying illegally extracted minerals. The vehicle was being driven by Gowhar Ahmad Shergojri of Krad. Cognizance in the matter has been taken as per law.
Police reiterates its commitment towards curbing illegal mining and warns violators that strict legal action will continue against those involved in exploitation of natural resources.
