ANANTNAG: In a continued drive against illegal mining activities, J&K Police in Anantnag during routine patrolling on Karshangam–Fohar axis, intercepted one JCB machine and two tippers found involved in illegal extraction of nallah bajri from Lidder River.
Acting promptly, the police party seized the JCB along with both the tippers on the spot to prevent further illegal extraction and transportation of mineral resources. In this connection, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered, and investigation has been taken up. Police remains committed towards strict enforcement against illegal mining and protection of natural resources.
