- A special course related to disability studies launched by IGNOU at Undergraduate level.
JAMMU: A flying squad team under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu went around the Exam Centres established in Jammu City for surprise monitoring of the ongoing December 2024 Term End Examinations. The Regional Director along with the other official, Dr. Asha Upadhyay, visited the Examination Centres at GGM Science College, Jammu, Govt. MAM College, Jammu and Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Jammu, Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Jammu and Central Sanskrit University, Jammu for a surprise check.
The Flying Squad team members expressed their satisfaction about the manner in which examinations are being conducted smoothly across the region. The flying team lauded the efforts of Centre superintendents, Invigilation and other staff involved in conduct of examinations about their efforts to ensure fair and hassle free examinations.
The Regional Director also informed that School of Interdisciplinary and Trans disciplinary Studies (SOITS) of IGNOU has launched a special course titled Disability Society and Culture (Divyangta Samaj aur Sanskriti) with Course Code- BMDG 171 under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme also and it offers a bouquet of possibilities and according to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a four-year undergraduate degree will feature multiple entry and exit options. Upon completing one year, students will obtain a certificate, a diploma after two years, a bachelor's degree after three years, and an honours bachelor's degree after four years.
