BUDGAM: In connection with the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) being observed across the nation on October 31, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam Mehraj-ud-din shah today convened a meeting to review preparedness for the Pad Yatra being organised in the district.
The Pad Yatra is scheduled to be held tomorrow and will commence from the parking space of Municipal Council Budgam and culminate at the DC Office Complex, Budgam. The event is being organised to commemorate the unparalleled contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, who played a pivotal role in strengthening the spirit of national integration.
During the meeting, the ADC took a detailed review of all arrangements including route management, security, traffic regulation, medical assistance, participation of students and officials, and overall logistics to ensure smooth conduct of the Pad Yatra. The ADC directed all concerned departments including Police, Municipal Council Budgam, Education, Health, and Information to work in close coordination for successful organisation of the event.
He emphasized that the day is an occasion to reaffirm the nationās collective commitment to unity, integrity, and security, and urged all participants to take part with enthusiasm and discipline. The meeting was attended by CPO, CMO budgam, ACD, DIO and officers from Police, Municipal Council Budgam, Education,and other concerned departments.
