PULWAMA: Continuing its strong stance against drug trafficking, Police in Pulwama successfully foiled a smuggling attempt by seizing 2.150 kilograms of suspected poppy straw during a naka checking operation at Kisrigam.
A police team from Police Station Kakapora, while conducting routine checking, recovered the contraband from the possession of one identified as Nisar Ahmad Shaksaz son of Gh. Ahmad resident of Kisrigam. The accused was taken into custody on the spot.
Following the recovery, a case under FIR No. 68/2025 was registered at Police Station Kakapora under section 8/15 of the NDPS Act and further investigation is in progress. Police reiterates its commitment to continue firm action against drug peddlers to make the district drug-free.
