JAMMU: On its 1582th Tree Talk, Vidyarthi of Woods delivered a lecture and spread awareness on diverse life forms at Department of Zoology in collaboration with Science Club, University of Jammu. OmPrakash Sharma, fondly called as Vidyarthi of Woodsis a former seniorIndianForestOfficer and SahityaAkademyawardwinner for his creativewritings who shared a glimpse of his vast knowledge on the eve of the anniversary of his 14-year long journey of biodiversity awareness that started in 2010.
Apart from spreading awareness on diverse forms specifically in J&K, he shared nomenclature origins of many of life forms in English-Hindi-Dogri. He shares the traditional knowledge with ease and zeal to farmer community and to the professionals.
Prof. Seema Langar, Head, Department of Zoology, University of Jammu in her welcome address shared and congratulated Mr. Om Prakash Sharma for this noble work of creating awareness in masses. The eventwas conducted by Dr Chinmoyee Maharana, Coordinator, Science Club, Utsaah, University of Jammu and conveyed her gratitude on behalf of the academic fraternity to the speaker in spreading awareness among youth who are the future of tomorrow.
