JAMMU: Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), in association with the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), organized a spiritual discourse titled “Kriya Yoga Meditation as a Remedy for Stress, Worry, and Anxiety”. The event, based on the teachings of the revered spiritual teacher Paramahansa Yogananda, took place at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu and drew an enthusiastic audience eager to explore the life-changing benefits of Kriya Yoga.

The talk was delivered by Swami Smaranananda Giri, the Vice President of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India. With a distinguished academic background, Swamiji holds a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Concordia University in Montreal and a PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He has received numerous honors, including state and university gold medals, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Kharagpur.

Swami Smaranananda Giri offered profound insights into the transformative power of Kriya Yoga, emphasizing its ability to harmonize the body, mind, and soul. In his address, he underscored that Kriya Yoga is not only a spiritual practice but also a scientific approach to living that can help individuals cope with the stresses of modern life. “Through the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, we learn meditation techniques that bring lasting peace, reduce stress, and foster holistic well-being,” Swamiji explained. He also highlighted the particular relevance of Kriya Yoga for householders and those balancing the demands of daily life.

“Kriya Yoga is a powerful tool for cultivating inner strength and peace,” Swamiji continued. “It provides practical methods for overcoming anxiety, worry, and stress while deepening one's connection to the divine. Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings offer a comprehensive framework for individuals to realize their highest potential and experience true spiritual freedom.”

During the occasion, Sh Sanjay Anand conducted the proceedings of the event, Prof Vikas Abrol, Vice Chairman, Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra, Jammu   introduced the Swamiji to the audience and felicitated by him and Sh Pankaj Koul, Secreary, YSDK presented the vote of thanks.
