KATHUA: As part of the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, multifarious awareness and outreach activities were organised across different parts of Kathua district to sensitise the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and reinforce the message of a drug-free society.
The activities included awareness lectures, interactive sessions and pledge-taking programmes conducted at Government School Thein Manoo, AAM Chandwan, Anganwadi Centre Kanth Billawar, Anganwadi Centre Bobiya Hiranagar, Duggan and Government Higher Secondary School Bhaddu under the aegis of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Participants were educated about the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse and encouraged to adopt healthy and responsible lifestyle choices.
During the programmes, resource persons highlighted the need for collective societal efforts to combat the menace of drugs and emphasised the vital role of youth, parents, teachers, Anganwadi workers and community leaders in spreading awareness and preventing substance abuse at the grassroots level.
As part of the campaign, participants also administered the Nasha Mukt Pledge and resolved to actively contribute towards creating an aware, healthy and addiction-free society. The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, community members and frontline workers and concluded with a call for sustained public engagement and community-led action to realise the vision of a drug-free Kathua.
