BILASPUR (CHHATTISGARH/DELHI): Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), in collaboration with the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS- NaMo Kendra) and sponsored by ICSSR, organized a Two-Day National Seminar on Women Empowerment Efforts under Prime Minister Modi Ji on August 5-6, 2025, at the university campus.
A highlight of the inaugural session was the release of the seminar souvenir and a book, showcasing research and discussions related to women empowerment initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji.
Prof A K Saxena Actg. VC of the GGB said that this seminar is a platform to discuss these achievements, evaluate their impact, and explore innovative strategies to further strengthen womenâs role in nation-building. Women empowerment is is a mission for a new India, and academic institutions like Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya have a vital role in taking this mission forward through research, dialogue, and action."
Special Guest Prof. Sumita Dave, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Amity University, Raipur, emphasized the role of education in empowerment, stating, âEducation is the strongest tool for empowering women. When coupled with digital literacy and skill development, it uplifts women and also accelerates the growth of the entire nation.â
Shri Anil Maheshwari, veteran journalist associated with the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies addressed the gathering and remarked, âWomen empowerment is the soul of a progressive India, and under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi Ji, this vision has turned into reality through transformative policies and social reforms.â
Prof. Jasim Mohammed, Chairman of the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS), extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Honâble Vice Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya for organising such a meaningful and timely seminar. In his message, he stated, âThe efforts undertaken for womenâs led Development during the 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Jiâs leadership have been unprecedented in the history of independent India. No previous government has ever elevated women to such heights of dignity, opportunity, and participation. This seminar is an excellent platform to reflect on these achievements and inspire future action.â
Dignitaries were greeted with saplings, mementos, and shawls as a mark of respect and gratitude. Prof. Sambit Kumar Padhi, Head of the Department of Education and Nodal Officer, Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS), GGV, delivered the welcome address and provided an overview of the seminar theme and objectives. The event commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana and the University Kulgeet, creating an atmosphere of reverence and cultural pride.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jyoti Verma, Organising Secretary, followed by the National Anthem. The session witnessed insightful addresses from eminent personalities, including Smt. Sulabha Deshpandey, representative of A.B.S.K. Rashtra Seva Samiti, Shri Anil Maheshwari, veteran journalist, Prof. Sumita Dave, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Raipur, Prof. A.S. Ranadive, Registrar, GGV, Prof. Nilambari Dave, Chief Guest and Former Vice-Chancellor, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Prof C S Vazalwar Dean Sos Education.
