NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Gulam Ali Khatana welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks in the Union Cabinet meeting on self-reliance and the ‘vocal for local’ campaign. He said the Prime Minister’s message underlines the government’s resolve to strengthen the economy and empower citizens at every level.
Khatana said the Prime Minister reiterated that India is prepared to face all challenges with confidence. He added that the call to promote Made in India products is essential to boosting domestic manufacturing and reducing dependence on imports.
Khatana noted that the Prime Minister’s directive to expand the reach of schemes such as PM SVANidhi, which provides subsidised loans to street vendors, will directly benefit the weaker sections of society. He said such steps ensure that growth and opportunities reach the poorest citizens.
Khatana also said the Prime Minister rightly asked ministries to take government programmes to the ground, instead of limiting activities to Delhi. He pointed out that this approach will help citizens in towns and villages understand and benefit from government initiatives more effectively.
Khatana emphasised that the Prime Minister’s focus on self-reliance, promotion of Indian products and expansion of welfare measures will strengthen the economy in the long run. He said it is the responsibility of leaders and citizens alike to take forward this vision of a strong and self-sufficient India.
