JAMMU: The Centre for Molecular Biology, Central University of Jammu, successfully organized its first alumni meet bringing together alumni, faculty members, and current students to celebrate academic and professional achievements. This event marked a significant milestone through the vision and leadership of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain.
The first alumni meet of the CMB, CU Jammu was inaugurated by the registrar of the Central University of Jammu, Prof. Yashwant Singh, and Dean of Students Welfare (DSW) Prof. Ritu Bakshi. Prof. Yashwant Singh expressed his appreciation for the achievements and the continued association of the alumni with the university. He promised a changed landscape of the university with greater involvement and contribution of the alumni in the coming years. He highlighted the important role of alumni in enhancing the institution's reputation and expanding its influence.
Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Dean Students Welfare appreciated the gathering and emphasized the enduring bond between the alumni and the university. She remarked, "Your connection with your alma mater is a source of strength and pride, and your contributions can inspire and guide the next generation of students.” She motivated alumni to stay connected with the parent institution in the continued life journey.
The Director of the Centre for Molecular Biology, Dr Narendra Bairwa, warmly welcomed the alumni and highlighted the significance of their involvement. He stated, "The alumni are not just the torchbearers of our legacy but also invaluable contributors to societal development and our future aspirations.” He encouraged alumni to remain connected with their alma mater and explore opportunities to contribute to the growth of the institution.
In the "Connecting with Alumni"session, faculty members Dr Sawarkar, Sharma, Associate Prof., Dr. Ashok Yadav, Associate Prof., Dr Praveen Mehta, Associate Prof., Dr Shelly Sehgal, Senior Assistant Prof., Dr Fareeda Akhtar, Assistant Professor and AlumniCoordinator of CMB, Dr Sudhir Singh, Assistant Prof., had wonderful interactions and reflections on shared experiences with alumni.
The special "Alumni Open Mic" session allowed alumni to share their journeys, professional accomplishments, and fond memories of their time at the university. These heartfelt stories rekindled nostalgia and inspired current students. The Alumni Meet was seamlessly coordinated by Alumni Coordinator, Dr.Sudhir Singh, whose dedication ensured the event's success. Dr. Shelly Sehgal concluded the gathering with a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the alumni for their enthusiastic participation and to the faculty, current students, and staff members for their unwavering support.
The meeting of alumni brought an opportunity for attendees to share their professional journeys and mentor current students. It was a memorable occasion that strengthened the bond between the alumni and their alma mater, paving the way for a more engaged and dynamic alumni network.
