REASI: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan today chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee on Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) at the DC office in Reasi. During the meeting, the committee reviewed a proposal for the establishment of a trout fish unit under the PMMSY plan for the fiscal year 2024-25. After thorough deliberation, the Panel approved the proposal for one trout fish unit.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the construction of seven low-cost houses for fishermen, which is also part of the PMMSY scheme. The construction will proceed upon receiving the necessary approvals, aimed at improving living conditions for the fishing community. The Deputy Commissioner expressed optimism about the positive impact of these initiatives on the local economy and the welfare of fishermen in the district.
