JAMMU: Flt Lt Advitiya Bal helpline foundation today commemorated Martyrs day on the occasion of Kargil Diwas and 2nd death ceremony of Flt. Lt. Advitiya Bal who made the supreme sacrifice 2 years back in July 2022 during a crash of MIG 21. The commemoration included Bike Rally, musical performances and Felicitations to the families of the martyrs and meritorious students of Sainik School Nagrota. The bike rally was lead by the Royal riders Adventure group and the members of Association of Sainik School Ex Students. The bikers showed great committment and character that despite of incessant rains 30 odd bikers made it to the event.

The way they conducted themselves was a rare find. Helmets, distances, stoppages and quality of drive was impeccable. The bikers drove to the home to Flt. LT. Advitiya Bal where first time in 2 years the trunk which was handed over by his squadron was opened and his belongings were showcased. The belongings includes photographic journey, his uniform, achievements and accolades.

Afterwards bikers drove to the school named after Flt Lt. Advitiya Bal and paid floral tribute to the bust which was dedicated by Nexans to the Girls high secondary school named after our brave hero. And then the rally finally culminated at SKUAST, R.S. Pura, wherein they were joined by the members of civil society. It was a pack house tuned to the capacity of 350 members where few leftovers were standing to pay homage to their hero. The program started with brilliant Santoor performance by Mr. Swaranjot Singh who played lovely patriotic renditions. The other cultural pieces were decorated with group song performed by Sainik School cadets.

What caught the eyes of everyone was lovely dance performance performed by Girls cadets of Sainik School Nagrota. Mr. Swaran Bal, representing the Shaheed Flt Lt. Helpline foundation, felicitated martyrs' families, meritorious Sainik School cadets, and presented 40 career-oriented books to the NCC contingent. District collector who was the chief guest for this occasion expressed deep gratitude to the family of Flt. Lt. Advitiya Bal and also expressed regret that some exigencies has kept him bust and he will visit the family in person at their home in the evening.

"The family of the martyrs need special recognition which we all should exhibit through our behaviour and it requires humility," said President NEXAS; Brig. G.S. Shan. "Their bravery and selflessness inspire us to work towards a better future for our nation." Said SDM R.S. Pura; Ms Seema Parihar. "The event is inspirational for the students of Sainik School Nagrota as they( students) have imbibed in them an experience that how a martyr gets unparalleled respect in society." Said The Principal of Sainik School Nagrota; Captain Shibu Devasiya Joy. Mr. Swaran Bal finally presented vote of thanks to all who paid befitting tribute to their son and martyrs families'. The event concluded with a sumptuous lunch and with a message that please stand by the side of martyrs family similarly as our brave heroes stand for us in the line of their duty.
