KUPWARA: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today organized a special programme at the Environmental Hall, Handwara, as part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week being observed across the country.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials, and members of the general public, who collectively took the Integrity Pledge to uphold transparency and honesty in all spheres of life. Addressing the gathering, ACD Kupwara, Arshad Qadir Bhat highlighted the importance of transparency, honesty, and ethical conduct in public service.
During the session, ACB officers elaborated on the ethics of public duties and the importance of performing responsibilities strictly in accordance with established guidelines. They cautioned that any deviation or negligence in official duties may also amount to a form of corruption. The officers further stressed that incidents of corruption should be promptly reported to the ACB with genuine and verifiable information, while warning that action will be taken against those providing false or misleading complaints.
Speakers reiterated that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility and can only succeed when citizens and officials work hand in hand with integrity and accountability.
BDO Headquarters Kupwara, while speaking on the occupation, appreciated the efforts of the ACB and all stakeholders for spreading awareness and reaffirming commitment towards a corruption-free society.
