KATHUA: The Students of UIET, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu showcased their exceptional talent and sportsmanship at the Inter-College Boxing Championship organized by the University of Jammu. This remarkable event witnessed the performance of UIET students in inter-college boxing competitions, and they brought laurels to the institute by securing one silver and two bronze medals.
Mr. Avneet Singh (CSE, Sem VI) delivered an impressive performance, securing the Silver Medal in his weight category. In addition, Raghav Sharma (CIVIL, Sem I) and Keshavam (CSE, Sem III) displayed exceptional grit and resilience, both clinching Bronze Medals in their respective categories. The students demonstrated determination and skill, marking a significant milestone for UIET in the realm of sports. Their achievements have not only highlighted the potential of UIET students but also set a strong foundation for future participation in competitive sports.
Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus (JU) expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the winners and applauded their commendable efforts. He encouraged the students to actively participate in such championships, emphasizing their role in personal growth and the development of a balanced personality. He also urged other students to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities to explore their full potential.
He added that this accomplishment marks a significant milestone for UIET, as it highlights the students’ competitive spirit and dedication to excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities. He further said that Kathua Campus remains committed to fostering an environment that encourages students to pursue excellence in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities.
Dr. Rockey Gupta, I/c Principal, UIET, also congratulated the medalists for their achievements and lauded their efforts in bringing laurels to the institution. He acknowledged the importance of such accomplishments in motivating other students to explore sports alongside academics. He also added that the achievements of students will serve as a catalyst for encouraging greater student participation in sports and other co-curricular domains.
