JAMMU: The fifth day of the Yuva Sangam Phase V, part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, concluded with enriching experiences for the Tamil Nadu participants. The day commenced with a visit to the Salal Power Project and the iconic Chena Power Project, followed by a grand valedictory ceremony at the Vivekananda Classroom, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, Jagti Campus.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu. Present on the occasion were Dr. Ashish Kumar, Nodal Officer, IIM Jammu and Dr. Manu Bansal, Faculty, IIM Jammualong with faculty members Dr.Sudershan Kumar and Dr. Jacqueline Divya Mary from the National Institute of Technical Teachersâ Training and Research (NITTTR), Chennai.
The TamilNaduparticipants shared their travel experiences and reflected on the memorable moments they had during their time in Jammu.Students of IIM Jammu also shared their memorable experiences, and the friendships formed with the Tamil Nadu participants during their stay at the IIM Jammu Jagti Campus.
In his address, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, emphasized that the Yuva Sangam initiative under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat program embodies the essence of Indiaâs unity in diversity by fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding. He described it as a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative post-independence, launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at integrating India. He further highlighted that India is a beautiful country with rich linguistic diversity and culture.
He expressed that IIM Jammu is happy to host this transformational journey, contributing to building bridges of harmony and learning across the country.He noted that Yuva Sangam serves as a vibrant platform to celebrate the nationâs rich diversity while promoting inter-regional understanding. Drawing from the recent visit of Hon'ble Prime Minister to Russia, he shared the insight that language is never a barrier when expressed with emotions. He also commended the enthusiasm and curiosity demonstrated by the Tamil Nadu delegation during their stay at IIM Jammu. He concluded by urging everyone to put the nation first, sacrifice for its progress, and contribute to its development.
Sharing their reflections on the program, Dr.Sudershan Kumar, Faculty, NITTTR Chennai, remarked that the Yuva Sangam program has been an excellent opportunity for participants to broaden their horizons and foster meaningful connections. Dr. Jacqueline Divya Mary, Faculty, NITTTR Chennai, added that the initiative provided participants with a unique perspective on the culture and ethos of Jammu and Kashmir, creating memories and learnings to cherish.
The Tamil Nadu delegation was given a heartfelt farewell, marking the successful conclusion of their immersive journey. Participants expressed their gratitude to IIM Jammu for its meticulous planning, warm hospitality, and the invaluable experiences facilitated during the program.IIM Jammu merchandise was distributed to all the participants as a token of appreciation and memory. The valedictory ceremony culminated with the national anthem.
