JAMMU: In a moment of immense pride for Jammu & Kashmir, two extraordinary young achievers, Risheek Kumar Sharma from Samba and Ayaan Sajad from Anantnag, have brought laurels to the Union Territory by winning the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) for their remarkable contributions in the fields of science, technology, and art and culture.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) executive member Raman Suri congratulated the young awardees, describing their achievements as a beacon of inspiration for youth across Jammu & Kashmir. He remarked, “These children have proven that with dedication, innovation, and perseverance, the youth of J&K can achieve remarkable feats and contribute significantly to the nation’s progress. The BJP leader emphasized that the achievements of Risheek and Ayaan underscore the talent and potential of J&K’s youth. “These young achievers symbolize the transformative journey of Jammu & Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Their success stories are a testament to the thriving opportunities and vibrant spirit in the region,” Suri said.
Raman Suri lauded Risheek for breaking stereotypes and adopting an entrepreneurial mindset. He stated, “It is heartening to see a young mind from Jammu choosing innovation over conventional paths like government jobs. Risheek’s accomplishments in cyber security showcase the boundless potential of J&K’s youth.” He also appreciated 12-year-old Ayaan Sajad, a Sufi singer par excellence from Anantnag saying that his soulful renditions, including the viral hit ‘Be Dard Dadi Chane,’ have captivated audiences nationwide, helping reconnect younger generations with their cultural roots.
He also encouraged the children of Jammu & Kashmir to follow the footsteps of Risheek and Ayaan. “Every child possesses the ability to shine. Dedication, hard work, and innovation can turn dreams into reality. Let these young achievers be a source of inspiration for the youth to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to society,” he added.
He said that Risheek Kumar Sharma’s work in science and technology and as the founder of ‘Hackers Pathshala,’ J&K’s first cyber security company has empowered over 5,000 children and trained 100 police personnel at the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy which is a great achievement. His innovative app, ‘Prarthana,’ which received accolades from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exemplifies his commitment to leveraging technology for societal good.
Raman Suri praised Ayaan’s talent, saying, “Ayaan’s dedication to preserving Kashmiri music and culture is truly commendable. He has become a cultural ambassador for Jammu & Kashmir, inspiring countless young individuals to explore and celebrate their heritage.” The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar PMRBP he added is India’s highest civilian honor for children, awarded for exceptional achievements in diverse fields. This year, 17 children from across the country were recognized, with each recipient receiving a medal, certificate, and citation.
