KATHUA: Kathua Campus, University of Jammu successfully organized an interactive lecture session on the occasion of National Startup Day on the topic "Jammu and Kashmir Start up Policy”. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Dheeraj Handoo, District Nodal Officer, Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Kathua. The resource person delivered lecture with a focus on disseminating information about the J&K Start up Policy 2024-27, discussing its vision, objectives, eligibility, and highlights/benefits. He emphasized the role of policy in fostering innovation and supporting start-ups in the Union Territory.
Mr. Handoo highlighted various key aspects viz. financial assistance, incubation facilities, and market access available for aspiring entrepreneurs. The interactive session allowed students to seek insights of the policy and its practical implementation, further enriching their understanding of the start-up ecosystem. Furthermore, he encouraged the young students to think beyond traditional career paths and pursue entrepreneurship as viable career option.
Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in his message highlighted the importance of J&K Start-Up Policy 2024-27 as a visionary step that will empower the potential youth and develop an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The session was anchored by Ms. Avni Sharma and Ms.Tiharika Nath, faculty of MBA delivered vote of thanks. Also, Dr. Ritu Sharma and Mr. Gaurav Sharma motivated the students to take advantage of such opportunities for self-growth and advancement. Dr. Surekha Phakwrya and Dr. Nomita Sharma were also present during the session.
