SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Monday has appointed Aadil Bhat as its National Working President with immediate effect. The decision was taken following deliberations in the Central Working Committee (CWC), with the leadership emphasising the need to further strengthen organisational coordination, streamline the functioning of its various units, and ensure more effective implementation of the Association’s programmes and initiatives.
Bhat will continue to discharge his existing responsibilities as National Organisational General Secretary while taking on the additional charge of National Working President. In his new role, he will coordinate closely with the national leadership team, including the National Convenor, National President, Chairman and other senior office-bearers, to ensure greater synergy and coordination across the organisation.
Bhat has risen through the organisational ranks of JKSA, taking on progressively greater responsibilities and contributing to the Association’s organisational development, outreach and student-focused initiatives. His elevation reflects the confidence of the leadership in his organisational experience, commitment and ability to work effectively with teams at different levels.
As National Working President, Bhat will work closely with the Central Working Committee, national office-bearers, state and regional units to strengthen internal coordination, improve communication between the national leadership and grassroots teams, and ensure that the Association’s programmes are effectively carried out across different parts of India and abroad.
A key part of his expanded mandate will be to strengthen JKSA’s student grievance-redressal mechanism and ensure that concerns faced by students from Jammu & Kashmir across the country are identified, documented and pursued effectively. He will coordinate with state and regional units to take up issues concerning admissions, examinations, scholarships, discrimination, harassment, accommodation, fee-related concerns and other student welfare matters with the concerned state and central government authorities, educational institutions and other relevant agencies. The objective will be to create a more responsive institutional mechanism through which students can seek timely assistance and representation.
His responsibilities will also include strengthening JKSA’s grassroots presence, deepening engagement with marginalised and underrepresented communities, and expanding the Association’s outreach among students from Jammu & Kashmir, both within India and overseas.
The Association expressed confidence that Bhat will uphold the core values and vision of JKSA and lead with commitment, courage and clarity. His leadership, the Association said, will be instrumental in consolidating its organisational network, strengthening its presence at the grassroots level, and advancing its initiatives concerning the welfare, rights, educational opportunities and aspirations of students from Jammu & Kashmir.
The appointment takes effect immediately and is part of JKSA’s broader effort to build a stronger, more coordinated, responsive and inclusive organisational structure, with greater emphasis on teamwork, grassroots engagement, student grievance redressal and effective representation of Jammu & Kashmir students across the country.
