KULGAM: With the district gearing up to celebrate 80th Independence Day this year, District Administration Kulgam today finalized arrangements for the 3rd phase of Vande Mataram Campaign and Har Ghar Tiranga in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam with officers of line departments at Mini Secretariat, Kulgam.
Addressing the meeting, the DC emphasized the need for meticulous execution of the campaign at all levels. The DC fixed department wise responsibilities and directed all departments to organize a specified, diverse range of activities during the campaign, starting from 09th of August and culminating on 17th August.
Special assemblies, patriotic song competitions, essay & painting competitions, Tiranga rallies by students, hoisting of National Flag under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, cycle rallies, and sports events themed on national integration, Tiranga corners, exhibitions and other commemorative activities shall be organised during the campaign.
The DC further directed that iconic locations, government offices, and public spaces in the district be decorated with tricolor and that the campaign be documented through photographs and videos for wider dissemination. The meeting was attended by ADC Kulgam, Vikar Ahmad Giri; ACR, Reyaz Ahmad Shah; DIO, Tehsildar Kulgam, EO MC Kulgam, and other district and sectoral officers.
