RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting and finalised arrangements for the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, besides reviewing preparations for the celebration of 80th Independence Day in the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Arun Gupta, SSP Traffic Raja Adil Hameed, ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo and other senior district and sectoral officers.
The Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, being observed across the District from August 9 to August 17, 2026, remained a major focus of the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to mobilize maximum public participation and widespread display of the National Flag on houses, government offices and other prominent locations across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner asked officers to encourage the people of the district to proudly hoist the Tiranga at their homes and participate actively in the activities being organized under the campaign. He also called upon officers and officials to lead by example and ensure that government buildings and offices are decorated with the National Flag and illuminated with tricolour lights.
The District Administration has rolled out a detailed schedule for the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and the departments have been directed to coordinate closely to make the campaign a vibrant mass movement reflecting patriotism, unity and national pride.
Reviewing arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations, it was decided that the district-level Independence Day function shall be held at District Police Lines. The National Flag shall be unfurled by the Chief Guest at 8:55 AM, followed by the National Anthem, March Past by contingents of security forces, colleges and schools, besides a colourful presentation of cultural programmes.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the arrangements point-wise and assessed the preparedness of various departments for the national function. He directed all officers to complete the assigned arrangements well in advance and ensure proper coordination among departments for the successful conduct of the celebrations.
He further directed all District Heads to ensure their presence, along with subordinate officers and officials, at the full-dress rehearsal scheduled on August 13 as well as at the main Independence Day function at the district headquarters.
SSP Arun Gupta also discussed various security-related issues and offered suggestions for ensuring foolproof security arrangements and the smooth conduct of all scheduled programmes. SSP Traffic Raja Adil Hameed briefed the meeting about the traffic management plan and regulation measures to be put in place during the Independence Day celebrations and other mega events.
The ADC briefed the meeting about the role and responsibilities assigned to different departments and stressed the need for coordinated efforts for the successful conduct of the celebrations.
