JAMMU: In its continued commitment towards environmental conservation and promotion of a greener future, Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) organized a plantation drive at PM SHRI High School, Dhok Khalsa, Jourian. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from school staff, local community members, volunteers, and representatives of the Foundation.
The plantation drive was led by Ms. Sudesh Kumari, Headmaster, along with the dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. Ex-Sarpanch Shri Kali Dass, Chowkidar Shri Sewa Ram, villagers, students, and volunteers actively participated in the initiative, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
Representing Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation, Dr. Sonia Verma, Managing Director & CEO, Shri Mohan Lal, Cashier, Pritam Verma, Retd Lecturer, Executive Member, and Shri Shanga Ram participated in the programme and encouraged the gathering to adopt tree plantation as a collective social responsibility.
A large number of medicinal, aromatic, shade-bearing, and fruit plants were planted across the school premises to enhance the green cover, improve the local environment, and provide long-term ecological and educational benefits to future generations. The plantation is expected to contribute towards biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, cleaner air, and environmental awareness among students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sonia Verma emphasized that every tree planted today is an investment in the health and well-being of future generations. She urged students to nurture the saplings with the same care as they would nurture their own future and highlighted SGWF's ongoing commitment to expanding green spaces through community participation.
The Foundation appreciated the wholehearted cooperation extended by the school administration and local residents. Mr. Vikas Virdi, Teacher, played a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and successfully conducting the plantation drive, ensuring smooth execution of the programme and active involvement of all stakeholders.
The event concluded with Shri Mohan Lal presenting the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Headmaster, school staff, villagers, volunteers, and all participants for making the plantation drive a grand success. He reiterated SGWF's resolve to continue organizing such awareness and plantation programmes across Jammu and Kashmir to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.
