BARAMULLA: Continuing its drive against illegal mining and unauthorized extraction of minerals, Police in Baramulla conducted a special operation in the Khawjabagh area against illegal sand extraction. During the operation, 07 illegal sand dredging pumps were recovered and seized on the spot. Necessary legal action has been initiated in coordination with the Mining Department under the provisions of the MMDR Act against the persons involved in illegal mining.
Meanwhile, during naka checking/patrolling at Delina area, two tippers bearing registration number JK08C-2242 and JK13-7604 were intercepted and found plying in violation of the provisions of the MMDR Act. Necessary action was taken under the said Act, following which the vehicles were released. J&K Police reiterates its commitment to curb illegal mining and ensure strict enforcement of the law.
