POONCH: The District Administration Poonch will organise a week-long series of programmes from August 9 to 17, 2026, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram under Phase-III, alongside the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma directed all departments to ensure implementation of the meticulous plan prepared for the week long activities.
A host of patriotic and public-participation activities have been planned across the district at District Headquarters, Sub-Divisions, Tehsils, Blocks and Panchayat levels. These include mass singing of Vande Mataram, Tiranga rallies, cycle rallies, exhibitions, Tiranga-themed Rangolis, patriotic song concert, Partition Horrors Remembrance Day programmes, Independence Day celebrations, inter-school cultural competitions and Tiranga bike rallies.
The grand Independence Day programme on August 15 will be held at Sports Stadium, Poonch, featuring the National Anthem, mass singing of Vande Mataram, Police Band performance and prize distribution. As part of Har Ghar Tiranga, citizens and government employees have been encouraged to hoist the National Flag at their homes from August 9 to 17, while offices and institutions will display the Tricolour and promote the campaign through various outreach activities.
Citizens are also encouraged to participate in the “Selfie with Tiranga” initiative. The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, has been designated as the District Nodal Officer for coordinated implementation of the campaign. All concerned departments have been directed to ensure effective participation, proper coordination, documentation and timely reporting of activities.
The District Administration has appealed to students, youth, institutions and the general public to participate enthusiastically and make the Vande Mataram Commemoration and Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 a grand success.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik,Chief Planning Officer, Shama Un Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Development, Shakeel Ahmed Malik, besides other concerned officers.
