POONCH: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, Poonch, to review the progress of the District Capex Budget 2026–27 and developmental works being executed in the district.
The meeting held detailed deliberations on key issues pertaining to the District Capex Budget, including the status of Administrative Approvals under PRI and APDP components, budgetary provisions against approved Administrative Approvals/estimated costs and the progress of Administrative Approvals (AAA), tendering and allotment of works for the financial year 2026–27.
The DDC also took a comprehensive review of the progress of developmental works with particular focus on the physical and financial progress of ongoing works, pending approvals, tendering, allotment and issues hampering timely execution of projects.
The meeting also discussed measures for ensuring effective planning, timely execution of approved works and optimum utilization of available funds to achieve the desired developmental outcomes.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to expedite the process of approvals, tendering and allotment of works and ensure that all approved projects are executed within the prescribed timelines and in accordance with the required quality standards.
He called for close inter-departmental coordination and regular monitoring of developmental works, stressing that government funds must be utilized judiciously and in a result-oriented manner for the overall benefit of the people.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Poonch; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Poonch; Assistant Commissioner Development, Poonch; Executive Engineer, Ground Water Division Jammu; Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing (REW), Poonch, besides other concerned officers.
