SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations. The meeting covered arrangements related to venue preparedness, security and law and order, traffic management, sanitation, power and water supply, healthcare, transportation and parking, seating, public address system, cultural programmes, parade rehearsals, illumination and other essential arrangements.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to complete their assigned responsibilities well in advance and ensure close coordination for the smooth conduct of the celebrations. She stressed the need for meticulous planning, timely execution and regular monitoring of all arrangements. She further directed the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness, uninterrupted essential services, adequate security and emergency response arrangements, besides making proper provisions for the convenience of participants and the general public.

The DC also stressed effective coordination during parade rehearsals and cultural programmes and called upon all officers to discharge their duties with dedication, professionalism and a sense of responsibility to ensure that the Independence Day celebrations are conducted in a befitting and dignified manner. Among others, the meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Additional SP, SDMs and other district and sectoral officers.
