• District-wide activities featuring rallies, exhibitions, sports, cultural and patriotic events being held from August 9 to 17: DC

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today rolled out an activity plan for Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and celebrations commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram (Phase-lll) in the district.

Addressing a press conference here, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a series of patriotic, cultural, sports and public participation activities shall be organised across the District from August 09 to August 17, 2026 as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and 150 years of Vande Mataram celebrations.

Outlining the diverse activity calendar, the DC said that August 09 would witness sports activities, followed by a Tiranga/Vande Mataram Exhibition on August 10. “August 11 will witness Tiranga Rallies, while the following day will witness cycle rallies and illumination and decoration of government buildings and other prominent public places,” he added.  He further informed that Tiranga Rangoli competitions and a patriotic song concert shall be organised on August 13.

Elaborating further, he said August 14 would be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, while the Independence Day celebrations and Har Ghar Tiranga activities shall be held on August 15.

A series of sports activities would be held on August 16 and the campaign would culminate on August 17 with an inter-school competition, bike rally and other patriotic activities.
